Reconciliation Action Plan

Author

Energy Futures Lab

The Energy Futures Lab’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) reflects our ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and to building respectful, reciprocal relationships with Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

Meaningful energy system transformation must include Indigenous Rights, perspectives, leadership, and participation. Grounded in the pillars of Truth, Reciprocity, and Reconciliation, the RAP outlines the principles, practices, and actions that will guide us.

This Action Plan is both a reflection on our journey to date and a commitment to how we will continue learning, evolving, and showing up in our work.

We gratefully acknowledge the original territories of the Siksikáwa, Îyârhe Nakodabi, and Tsuut’ina Dene, of Mohkínstsisakápiyoyis, Wincheesh-pah, Kootsisáw, or the colonized lands which many now refer to as Calgary, where the Energy Futures Lab is headquartered. These Lands are also home to members of the Métis Nation of Alberta under the Otipemisiwak Métis Government — District 4 & 5, whose peoples have deep relationships with the land. This reminds all of us to walk in a good way and remember our commitments to Indigenous Peoples.
