Energy Futures Lab Welcomes Suzanne Life-Yeomans as Indigenous Relations Lead

We're pleased to welcome Suzanne Life-Yeomans to the Energy Futures Lab team as our new Indigenous Relations Lead.

Suzanne joins the Lab as a contractor to strengthen and guide our relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities and organizations as they relate to emerging, low-emission economic development opportunities.

This role reflects our commitment to ensuring Indigenous perspectives, rights, participation and knowledge(s) meaningfully shape our initiatives and engagement processes from the outset. Suzanne will provide strategic guidance, leadership and practical support to help ensure the Lab’s work is carried out in a good way, grounded in trust, reciprocity and respect.

Suzanne brings more than 25 years of experience advancing Indigenous consultation, engagement and economic development. A member of the Liidlii Kue First Nation, she has built a career helping bridge Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives while supporting opportunities that create lasting social and economic benefits for communities.

She is the founder of her own Indigenous relations consulting practice and serves as Chair of the First Nations Women's Council on Economic Security. Her leadership spans governance, community development, public policy and industry collaboration, with a strong focus on ensuring Indigenous communities are partners in shaping the decisions that affect them.

Earlier this year, Suzanne was recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her longstanding contributions to Indigenous consultation and engagement, and for her work advancing initiatives that improve socio-economic outcomes for Indigenous communities.
