Rochelle Longval

Vice President of Innovation

Hephae Energy Technology

Rochelle Longval is sparking innovative change. Upon relocating to a rural village, she gained a firsthand perspective on the importance of accessible energy, driving her focus towards direct utilization opportunities for communities. As the Vice President of Innovation at Hephae Energy Technology, Longval is advancing high temperature drilling solutions to access deeper, hotter rock, increasing energy output and reducing drilling costs. Rochelle’s transformative leadership has earned her recognition through the Young Women in Energy Award for “Changing the Face of Energy”. As an Ambassador with Energy Futures Lab, she focuses on intergenerational collaboration and discovering synergies within the emerging energy space. Her role as the WING Canada Ambassador allows her to promote education, professional development, and career advancement in the energy sector. Recently acknowledged by APEGA for her integrity, expertise and outstanding accomplishments, she has been awarded the 2023 Early Accomplishment Award.

By providing sustainable solutions we can remove the barriers that cause energy poverty and food insecurity, allowing rural communities to become more resilient.

We gratefully acknowledge the original territories of the Siksikáwa, Îyârhe Nakodabi, and Tsuut’ina Dene, of Mohkínstsisakápiyoyis, Wincheesh-pah, Kootsisáw, or the colonized lands which many now refer to as Calgary, where the Energy Futures Lab is headquartered. These Lands are also home to members of the Métis Nation of Alberta under the Otipemisiwak Métis Government — District 4 & 5, whose peoples have deep relationships with the land. This reminds all of us to walk in a good way and remember our commitments to Indigenous Peoples.
